Just before the launch of Intel's new Lynnfield processors with matching P55 chipset, a continuous barrage of P55 motherboards seems to be headed for us. DFI already showed the DFI Dark P55 T3eH6 in March, but now adds the more luxurious P55 T3eH9 to its line-up. Like the images below reveal, DFI aims the board at demanding users with SLI or Crossfire configurations.
The board has four DDR3 memory slots and its three PCI-Express 16x slots offer plenty of room for a multi-GPU setup or a fast raidcontroller. Also present are eight SATA 3 Gbps connectors, sufficient for almost every user. Those who still use older hard disks or optical drives will be delighted to find that there's also a PATA port on the motherboard.
DFI has placed a heatsink over the power design around the CPU socket. There are six fanconnectors present, allowing plenty of coolers to be connected directly to the board. A debug display and physical power and reset buttons make things a lot easier for overclockers. The I/O panel sports basic functionality such as USB, 7.1 audio (analog and digital) and Gigabit LAN. Also present is an eSATA connector and a mini-USB port.
DFI's T3eH9 is to be released within weeks at an estimated retail price of 175 euro.
