Netgear has introduced the Home Theater Internet Connection Kit (XAVB1004). This Powerline Kit with integrated 4-port switch allows devices with an ethernet-connection, such as gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, HDTV's or mediastreamers, to be connected to the internet or to a home network. The powerline adaptors feature energy management with an automatic standby and wake-on-activity functionality. The kit is also equipped with functions such as port-based Quality of Service (QoS), Push-N-Secure to protect the Powerline AV network with a single button-press, and Pick-a-Plug. The latter is an LED which displays the signal strength of the socket connection. The adaptors are based on the HomePlug AV standard, which makes them compatible with every existing HomePlug AV network.
Netgear's Home Theater Internet Connection Kit (XAVB1004) has a recommended price of 149 and consists of a Powerline AV Adaptor with Ethernet Switch, a seperate Powerline AV Ethernet Adaptor and two Ethernet cables.
