Nordic Hardware reportst hat AMD has shipped its first 'Evergreen DX11' graphics card samples to its partners. The site also mentions that the upcoming cards will be present on the Quakecon in Texas. The exact details of what AMD is going to show are still unclear, but will be announced shortly. It's likely that the manufacturer will hold a demonstration of DirectX 11's capabilities, without hinting at the exact computing power of these new 40nm chips.
According to the latest rumors, the 'Evergreen' series uses memory interfaces of 384-bits for the high-end cards, and 192-bits for the mainstream models. The entry models are to feature a 96-bits or even 48-bits interface. Most models will however be equipped with the GDDR5 memory chips, which compensates the smaller memory bus.
The RV870 'Cypress' is expected to feature 1600 stream processors, 80 texture units and 32 ROP's, while the mainstream RV830 'Redwood' is to be equipped with 800 stream processors and up to 40 texture units. The entry models will obviously feature less stream processors, but the exact number remains unknown for now. The mainstream Redwood chip is expected to perform slightly better than the existing Radeon HD4850, which uses the 55nm RV770 videochip. With a TDP of 75 Watt, the new Direct X 11 model has a significant lower power consumption in comparison to the current HD 4850.
It's also rumored that the topmodel in the 'Evergreen' line-up will be branded Trillian, possibly hinting at a triple-GPU solution.

AMD already showed a wafer with 40nm DX100 GPU's on the Computex
