Galaxy will release an overclocked version of the GeForce GTX 295 graphics card. This GPU is based on nVidia's new single-PCB design, making it possible to keep the card cooled more efficiently. Despite using nVidia's reference cooler, Galaxy still manages to achieve significantly higher clock frequencies on the two cores. A normal GTX 295 card has a 576 MHz core clock frequency and 1242 MHz for its shader clocks; Galaxy's version has respective clockspeeds of 650 and 1400 MHz.
Because a faster core can also process more memory bandwidth, Galaxy has also increased the frequency of the GDDR3 chips, from 2016 to 2200 MHz. The Galaxy GTX 295 Overclocking Edition, as the card is branded, features a black PCB and a black dual-slot cooler. The two DVI-connectors support monitors with a resolution of up to 2560x1600 and the SLI connector makes it possible to run two of the cards in Quad SLI.
The GTX 295 is equipped with two GT200b videochips, each with 240 shader units. Through the 448-bits memory interface, both cores have access to 896 MB dedicated memory, making for a total of 1792 MB. The card supports DirectX 10 and is compatible with nVidia's CUDA and PhysX technologies. Galaxy has not yet mentioned a recommended price for its latest addition but the card is to be released soon.
