Cooler Master will be launching a new Cosmos chassis shortly, branded Cosmos Pure. This case will be a follow-up to the manufacturer's Black Label series, which was a limited edition production. The Cosmos Pure is based on the Cosmos 1000, but features a black finish on both the in- and outside. The chassis has room for motherboards of the E-ATX form factor, making it compatible with all types of high-end hardware.

Due to its 266 x 598 x 628 mm dimensions, and the usage of steel plating, the case isn't particularly lightweight. When empty, Cooler Master's latest creation weighs 16,9 kilograms. The Cosmos Pure has a disk bay which offers room for up to six 3,5" harddisks. Behind the front panel door, five external 5,25" bays are available, one of which can be transformed into a 3,5" bay. The I/O panel on top of the case features USB, eSATA, FireWire and audio jacks.

On the inside of the case, three 120 mm fans have been placed to remove the excess heat from the chassis. The air is taken in on the bottom of the case, and can optionally be enforced by an extra fan for the harddisks. The plastic windtunnel  should provide an optimal airflow for graphics cards, but can also easily be removed. In terms of hardware, the Cosmos Pure is basically equal to the Cosmos 1000, a chassis that has already been on the market for almost two years. The enthusiasts however are likely to welcome this new black edition. The Cosmos Pure has a RRP of 249 euro, which is quite steep, considering the gray Cosmos 1000 with equal specifications will only set you back about 170 euro.
