Last month, an image surfaced of EVGA's new high-end P55 motherboard, the P55 FTW. As of yet, additional images images have been released of the board, predominantly intended for overclockers. The P55 FTW uses a color setting with black components and an equally dark-colored system of heatsinks. Around the CPU-socket, holes have been made for both LGA 775 and LGA 1156 CPU-coolers. A remarkable addition are the two 8-pin power connectors, which allow the board to use even more power. EVGA also uses this double CPU power connector on its X58 'Classified' motherboard.

The board uses a 17-phase power design, 12 of which are used for the processor. The rest is used for the VTT (2 phases) and the DDR3 memory (3 phases). The EVGA P55 FTW board is equipped with three PCI-Express 16x slots that support both Crossfire and SLI. The board also has a debug LED, triple BIOS and physical Power, Reset and Clear CMOS buttons. Also present are six SATA 3 Gbps connectors. EVGA has decided to use solid-cap type capacitors on its new motherboard.

The I/O panel on the side has dual Gigabit LAN, FireWire and eSATA, on top of the conventional USB, 7.1 audio and PS/2.  EVGA plans to release the board next month at a recommended price of about $250.
