Samsung presents a 22 inch LCD-monitor with a second 7 inch screen added to it. The SyncMaster 2263DX is to become a solution for people that want to have a multi-monitor setup. The 7 inch screen can show widgets, rss feeds or msn and email messages, while you're writing text on the big screen.
The 7 inch screen which is linked to the 22 inch display via USB, is attached to the bigger screen with a rotatable arm. This allows the smaller monitor to be placed on the top or side of the big screen, or even placed on your desk seperately.
Due to Samsung's UbiSync-technology, the 2263DX has a plug & play USB 2.0 connection, which should guarantee the functioning of the dual-monitor setup. The monitor also offers a USB-hub function. With the HDMI-inputs, excellent image quality from the most recent generation audio/video equipment should achieved. The integrated 3 megapixel webcam, two-track microphone and speakers should also make the 2263DX an ideal solution for webcam conversations.
The 22 inch widescreen monitor has a viewing angle of 170/160 degrees with a 1680x1050 resolution. The 7 inch screen has an 800 x 480 resolution. The MagicBrite3 technology, claimed 8000:1 contrast-ratio and 5 ms response time, should provide optimal performance in multimedia applications.
The Samsung SyncMaster 2263DX has a recommended price of € 479,- (Incl. VAT).
