While the uprise of simple smaller notebooks seems inevitable, XXODD claims optimal functionality and remarkable performance with its 12" XNi8212 business notebook. The laptop is equipped with 3.5G UMTS/HSDPA for mobile internet and hardware powered data encryption. XXODD also claims that the notebooks is resistant to shocks, falling, and liquids.

The XNi8212 is based on the Intel Ultra Mobile platform, while the processor and chipset are only using 9.5 Watt. The laptop features a special energy efficient TFT screen, based on LED technology. Thanks to these features, XXODD reports a battery life of up to 7 hours.

The magnesium-alloy case protects the notebook from damage when falling. The case is designed in a way that fluids up to 100cc cannot damage the laptop either. If the XNi8212 is dropped or shaken heavily, a special sensor shuts down vital parts, like the hard disk.

The notebook features a TPM v1.2 chip, which allows all data on the hard disk to be encrypted with the hardware. There's also an integrated fingerprintreader, which should keep unwanted guests out of your files.

The XNi8212 comes with components like an Intel UMPC processor, on-board DDR2 memory and an 1.8" hard disk. For communication, this notebook relies on its 3.5G UMTS/HSDPA adaptor, a 300Mbps wireless WLAN, Bluetooth and a Gigabit LAN connection. Also included are an extra battery providing 3 hours of battery life, extra 45Watt AC/DC adaptor and an external DVD rewriter. XXODD's XNi8212 has a recommended price of € 1395,- (incl. VAT).
