Silverstone has introduced a passively cooled 450 Watt power supply in the so-called NightJar series. The new supply, named the ST45NF does not have a fan, allowing it to operate completely silent. Since the supply is very efficient and spreads its load over a wide area, it doesn't need active cooling.

The NightJar ST45NF features a single +12v rail with 35 Amps on it. SilverStone's new power supply it 80 Plus certified, meaning it's efficiency is above 80% on the three measured points (20% / 50% / 100% load). The passively cooled 450 Watt supply can produce a peak 500 Watt for a short period.

The recommended price for SilverStone's ST45NF is about €170,-.
