thumbAs of yet ASUS hasn't really made power supplies it's main business, having only two models with respectively 450 and 550 watt available. After a silent period, ASUS has announced the release of a heavy-duty power supply, being the G-1000HA, a 1000 Watt PSU. ASUS' new supply lives up to the ATX 12V V2.3 specifications and 80-Plus certificate demands. The company claims to achieve a maximum efficiency of 87% on a standard 230V powerline.

The G-1000HA features a large temperature-controlled 135 mm fan, allowing the supply to adjust the fan's speed and decreasing the sound production. The five independent 12V lines should offer sufficient power for high-end systems with a multiple graphics card setup and a fast quad-core processor.

As of yet there is little detailed information known on the supply's connectors and whether it will be modular or not. It is likely that more information will show up in the coming days. The power supply will be showed on the Computex next week.
