Intel will launch the Centrino 2 mobile platform, named Montevina, later this month. The proceesor line-up will initially exist from 45nm dual cores, with the first 45nm quad core for Centrino 2 being released in the third quarter. Intel has announced the prices of six processors. The entry model, P9400 will cost US $209 for systembuilders. The future X9100 and QX9300 quad core processors will respectively cost US $851 and US $1038 (prices at 1.000 units).
Manufacturer Eurocom has introduced the first Centrino 2 notebook, featuring the unlaunched QX9300 processor, DDR3-1333 memory and a GeForce Go 9800M GTX graphics card.

The 15.4" notebook has a resolution of 1920x1200, and offers support for WiMax and Blu-Ray. When asked for, the Eurocom Centrino 2 can be equipped with an nVidia Quadro FX graphics card, making the notebook suited for professional applications.
