Recently ASUS in cooperation with DeviceVM announced to install onboard Linux on P5Q motherboards. The so-called Splashtop software, by ASUS called Express Gate, can be booted within several seconds and offers access to the internet.

Splashtop is installed on the motherboard's flash memory and was first packed with some of ASUS' high-end motherboards in October 2007. In January this year, the software was introduced inthe mainstream M3 series, and in the second quarter the P5Q Deluxe, P5Q-WS, P5W3 Deluxe and P5Q-E will also appear with onboard Linux.
