On the website of a United Kingdom company, the first Intel Atom motherboard has appeared. The D945GCLF is offered as a pre-order for a price of 62 pounds incl. VAT, and is to be released in the first week of June.

The mini-ITX board of 17x17 cm has a single-core Intel Atom 230 'Diamondville' with a 1.6 GHz clockspeed and 512kB L2 cache. This processor is cooled with a small heatsink. A remarkable thing is that the northbridge cooler is significantly larger and has a fan.

The used chipset is Intel's 82945G (ICH7) with GMA 950 onboard graphics. The board has one memory slot with support for up to 2GB (533/667) DDR2 memory. Though the board has only one PCI slot, it can be expanded to two with a special riser card. PCIe is unsupported.
