VIA is currently working on the Isaiah processor, that is expected shortly. As mentioned in an earlier article, the 65 nm Isaiah is to compete with Intel's energy efficient Atom processor. VIA wants to produce the Isaiah architecture on the 45 nm process in 2009, the biggest advantage being that the processor will use less power.

The transit to 45nm will most likely follow to the introduction of a dual-core Isaiah. In it's current shape, Isaiah is expected to reach clockspeeds of 2.0 GHz. Though the highest clockspeed of the 45nm model is obviously not available yet, Isaiah may be pushed over that 2.0 GHz.
