Intel cuts prices in the third quarter

Now that Nehalem's release is drawing near, Intel is trying to get the most out of it's current processors. Nordic Hardware reports that Intel will release four new processors in the third quarter. To make room for these processors, a price cut will be made. 

The E8600 and E7300 will be reinforcing the dual core market, the Q9650 and Q9400 the quadcore one. The Q9650, not to be confused with the QX9650 and the 8600, will have respective clockspeeds of 3.0 and 3.33 GHz, serving the high end user. The Q9400 and E7300, both running at 2.66 GHz, are more aimed towards mid-range users. 

Some processors will reach the 'End of Life' status in the third quarter, underwhich the Q6700, Q9300 and E8300. According to Nordic Hardware the extremely popular Q9450 will also have to make room for the new processors.
