More on Intel's Nehalem
Expreview has revealed more information on Intel's Nehalem processor. If the news is correct, Nehalem will use triple-channel DDR3 memory. Triple-channel DDR3 has a 32 GB/s bandwidth, not much faster than the current 25,6 GB/s Dual-channel bandwidth on the X48 chipset.
Nehalem would use 1333 MHz DDR3 modules, whereas the X48 uses 1600 MHz ones. In other words, the Nehalem has some breathing space for faster memory. Though at the moment DDR3 with speeds over 1600 MHz is unsupported, this may change with the coming of Nehalem.

An other remarkable thing on the slide is the hardware acceleration for physics calculations, a logic decision since Intel took over Havok.
The X58 chipset, compatible with the Nehalem processor, even though the board only has 32 PCI-Express lanes, it offers support for up to four graphics cards in CrossfireX mode. The X58 uses the ICH10 southbridge and is connected through Intel's DMI interface.
