On AMD's latest server/workstation roadmap (7th of May), the Istanbul has appeared, a 45nm processor in the Opteron series. According to several sources the Istanbul will be a native multicore like the Shanghai, only then with six (hexa-) instead of four (quad-) cores.

The newest processor is planned in the second half of 2009 and will use the same chipset as the Barcelona and Shanghai. In 2010 the Magny-Cours is planned, a 12-core (dodeca) on a new chipset. According to web2journal.com this processor will exist out of two native hexa-cores clocked at a lower speed than a single hexa-core, making it more useful for parallel calculations.
Remarkable is the disappearance of the Montreal, the octa-core that was officially confirmed earlier, seems to be replaced with the Istanbul.
