Coming monday, the 5th of May Hardware.Info will be down for a couple of hours due to a server upgrade. The existing webserver (Orion) with two AMD Opteron 248 processors, 4 GB memory and RAID software will be replaced with two Intel Xeon 45nm (Harpertown) quadcore processors, 16 GB of memory and four lightning fast Hitachi 15K RPM SAS-drives on an Adaptec ASR-3805 RAID-controller. We will also place an IP KVM-switch to be able to solve any future problems as quickly as possible.

We will travel to our datacenter DCG Amsterdam in the morning, where we shall start the works around 10:00. We hope to be up-and-running in the afternoon. After some fine tuning all performance problems the site has had recently should be over.
