Fudzilla reports that the production of Intel's Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor won't be stopped soon. It is likely that this popular quad-core will atleast be produced till the third quarter of this year.

Intel's 65nm Q6600, a very popular quad-core

The 65nm Q6600 is to fill the hole that the 45nm Yorkfield series has created. Apparently Intel expects to be unable to mass-produce the Yorkfield processors shortly. Especially the models with 12MB L2 cache are hard to get.
