In addition to Western Digital and Samsung, now Seagate has brought us a single-platter 320 GB hard disk as well. This hard disk is the latest addition to the Barracuda 7200.11 series. After a 500 GB model the new 3.5" is equipped with a SATA II interface, 16 MB cache and an MTBF of 750.000 hours. The usage of only one platter decreases the power usage, heat- and soundproduction. There's no news on a 640 GB model yet.
