The fact that the nVidia GeForce 9600GT has been around for a while, gave Sparkle the time to develop a new cooler for this midrange graphics card. The result is the Calibre 9600GT with a standard overclock to 700 Mhz for the core and 1850 Mhz for the shaders, while the 512 MB GDDR3 memory is clocked at 2 Ghz. The Sparkle Calibre P960, which will be the name of the card, has a heatpipe cooler that reminds us of the DuOrb by Thermaltake.
The special thing about this cooler is that it features movable heatpipes. They allow the orb coolers to be placed under an angle, thus increasing airflow to other parts of the graphics card. According to Sparkle this cooling system increases cooling for not only the video chip itself, but the near components as well. The two fans combined produce a volume of 29 dB(A), making the card quieter than a 9600GT with nVidia’s reference cooler (30,6 dB(A)).
