Chaintech has announed DDR3-1066 memory for notebooks. According to the Taiwanese manufacturer the SO-DIMM memory is meant for Intel's Montevina Centrino 2 platform, which can use DDR3 modules.

The Apogee DDR3-1066 SO-DIMM's are derived from Chaintechs 4-bit DDR2 modules. Contrary to DDR2 the new memory works at 1,5 Volts. This would lead to a power reduction of 17%, and also causes less heat emission.
