Fast 7200rpm 2.5-inch harddisk by Fujitsu

Fujitsu has introduced a new 2.5-inch harddisk that runs at 7200 rpm. The capacity of the MHZ2 BJ-series goes up to 320GB, making Fujitsu the first manufacturer to have a 2.5-inch disk with a capacity of 320GB and 7200 rpm.

The MHZ2 BJ-series are 9.5mm thick and use 0.8W when idle. When reading or writing the power consumption of the disk is 2.3W. The 2.5-inch disk has a SATA 3.0Gb/s interface. The average access time for reading is 10.5ms and 12.5ms for writing. All new 2.5-inch 7200 rpm disks by Fujitsu, with a capacity of van 80GB, 120GB, 160GB, 250GB or 320GB have 16MB cache. Fujitsu’s new harddisks will be available in June, the prices are still unknown.
