Hewlett Packard has launched the new HP EliteBook 6930p. Under certain circumstances, this notebook can last up to 24 hours on its new Ultra Capacity-battery.
The EliteBook 6930p has a mobile Core 2 Duo processor, Intel's PM45/GM45 chipset and optionally, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450. The screen has a diameter of 14.1 inch and can be equipped with HP's Illumi-lite LED display to reduce the power consumption. There's also the choice for an optional solid-state drive (SSD) by Intel.
To run its maximum of 24 hours, the EliteBook 6930p requires the seperately sold 12-cell ultra capacity battery, Intel's latest graphics drivers and HP's BIOS. Also required are the optional 80 GB SSD, Illumi-Lite LED display and Windows XP. The battery life is depending on the configuration, loaded applications and power management settings.
The HP EliteBook 6930p is meant for the business market, especially users that travel a lot. Because of this, the notebook has been developed conforming the MIL-STD 810F-standard. American defense uses this standard to test equipment for durability. The insides are made with HP's DuraCase technology and the keyboard can stand a reasonable amount of fluids.
