Shuttle has announced several new barbones on the IFA. We've highlighted the systems that we think are most interesting. The announcement of the X27 already made the news earlier, a nettop that drains only 23 to 36 Watt and has all the modern features. The Shuttle X27 is available starting at 220 Euro.

The Shuttle K58 will also be a reasonably priced barebone, but larger: Shuttle has left room for a graphics card and a full-size optical station. The PC is based on the Intel 945GC chipst, has an onboard GMA950 graphics card (with DVI- and D-sub output), Gigabit LAN and four USB 2.0 ports.

The third new barebone is Shuttle's D10, a model with a 7 inch touchscreen on the front. The barebone is presented as the ideal mediacenter. The screen provides information to simply control the mediacenter. It also allows to boot up applications or run commands. The device is based on Intel's G31 Express chipset, making it compatible with Intel Core 2 Duo processors with an FSB of up to 1333 MHz. The two memory sockets can house up to 4 GB of DDR2 memory. Gigabit LAN, four USB 2.0 ports, 5.1 surround audio and a PCI-Express x1 slot are also present.

The last barebone is Shuttle's Surveillance D1416. This PC is used as a base for security camera's. The G31 Express based barebone comes with the Shuttle PV416 Surveillance card: a PCI-Express x1 card which allows to connect up to 16 camera's through BNC. The D1416 is based on the Shuttle D10, a complete system that contains all the software to make the PC a worthy safety solution.
