With its REZGA RV-serie, Toshiba launches three new LCD TV's able to handle 100 and 120 Hz image processing. The screen will come in three different sizes, being 37, 42 and 46 inch. All three panels will have a 1920x1080 resolution and are compatible with 1080p videosignals. With the Active Vision M100HD image processing, the new LCD's are able to refresh at 100Hz, placing an extra frame for each regular one. According to Toshiba, this should provide a smoother display of (rapid) moving images.
The image signals of PAL (50Hz) and NTSC (60Hz) are upgraded to respectively 100 and 120 Hz processing by the television. All REZGA RV models are fully compatible with 24 fps video material, allowing playback in the exact same speed as it was recorded. According to the specifications, the television reaches a dynamic contrast of 18.000:1 up to 30.000:1. Through dynamically adjusting the screen's backlight, the effect of dark and light scenes is amplified even further.
The TV has integrated speakers on the bottom of the screen. Thanks to the digital TV-tuner, uncoded signals can be watched without an additional settop box. Toshiba's new RV-serie has three HDMI 1.3 outputs, as well as S-Video, Composite, component, scart and VGA.
The case has a glossy black finish and with the on/off button, the screen can be really turned off, not losing any power to standby-mode. The new RV-serie will be available from October on.
