AMD recently launched the SB750, which in combination with Advanced Clock Calibration (ACC) showed better overclock performance for Pheneom processors. The SB750 is linked to AMD's 790GX chipst and a refresh of the 790FX chipset. nVidia also wishes to utilize ACC and is therefore working on a refresh of the nForce 780a SLI chipset. The latest version of the nForce 780a SLI will have a different southbridge and more overclocking options in the BIOS.
nVidia's also working on the nForce 770i for Intel socket LGA775, which will be a budget version of the nForce 790i SLI chipset. The nForce 770i is to become nVidia's competitor for Intel's P45 chipset. It's likely that nVidia's new chipset will support SLI an a PCI-E 2.0 x8 / x8 setup and DDR3 memory.
Both chipets will be shipped to nVidia partners soon. It's still unclear when we can expect the first motherboards in the stores.
