Logitech reports the introduction of its Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave Pro keyboard-mouse combination. This is the second generation of the Cordless Desktop Wave Pro and combines the Wave keyboard with the, according to Logitech, special MX1100 Cordless Laser Mouse. The rechargable model can also be purchased seperately as upgrade. A battery version of the MX1100 mouse will soon be available as well.

The MX1100 Cordless Laser Mouse is designed ergonomically. The full-size mouse has a sleek shape, offering good support for the handpalm. The bundled USB plug can charge the MX1100 mouse while it's being used. Logitech claims that a recharge time of fifteen minutes should be enough to work with the mouse an entire day. A 7-hour recharge should be sufficient for six weeks of use. The USB cable can also be connected to the packed AC adaptor, making it possible to recharge the mouse via a regular power socket.

The MX1100 mouse features a MicroGear Precision Scroll Wheel with two modes, a hyperfast scrollmode for accelerated scrolling through large documents and webpages, and a regular scrollmode. The mouse also has eight programmable buttons for a quick navigation. After installation of the Logitech-software it's possible to switch between applications using the stealth thumb button. The mouse also allows DPI adjustments of up to 1600 DPI. This comes in handy when editing images at a pixel level or quick browsing through a document. It's also possible to zoom in and out. Logitech's wireless technology communicates through 2.4 GHz. To ensure optimal security, Logitech has integrated an 128-bit AES encryption in the keyboard.
