Contrary to earlier reports, Dell has announced that its Eee PC competitor will be placed in the Inspiron series, and that it will be named Inspiron 910.
The netbook has an 8.9-inch screen, with a resolution of up to 1024x600 pixels. It's powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor. You can decide whether you want 512 MB or 1 GB DDR2 memory and a Solid State Disk (SSD) with a capacity of 4, 8 or 16 GB. On this SSD Ubuntu Linux 8.04 or Windows XP will be pre-installed. The netbook also features a 0.3 or 1.4 megapixel webcam, WLAN and a 3-in-1 card reader. The whole weighing in just under a kilo.
