Asetek has a seperate series of water blocks for the high-end graphics cards of AMD and nVidia. These blocks bear the name LCLC, which stands for "low cost liquid cooling" and are aimed towards the OEM market. With the release of the HD4870 X2, Asetek was quite fast, the company immediately announced a single-slot water block for the new ATI card.

According to Asetek tests, the new 'LCLC' block for the HD4870 X2 cools up to 28 degrees Celsius better than the reference cooler. Since the temperatures can get as high as 90 degrees with the reference cooler, this would mean the LCLC watercooling would keep the GPU somewhere between 60 and 65 degrees at most. The usage of watercooling makes it easier to overclock the cards, and keep your computer more silent.

Because the cooling only uses a single slot, it's possible to create a compact system with two HD4870 X2's in Quad Crossfire and still have room for additional PCI(-E) cards.
