Creative restores DTS and Dolby op X-Fi
Creative has released a new set of drivers on its website which should make the hardware decoding of DTS and Dolby sound signals with an X-Fi soundcard possible in Windows Vista. The driver also adds DVD audio playback, a feature that ran on XP, but not on the new Vista. With this, Creative brings the featureset of the X-Fi chip in Vista closer to the level of Windows XP.
Creative X-Fi soundcard now able to decode DTS and Dolby in Vista
The last update of the X-Fi drivers dates from a few months ago, when the compatibility problems with 4GB systems were solved. These new X-Fi drivers, running on every card on the series except for the Xtreme Audio, also fixes a problem with can cause the computer to crash in the 'Audio Creation' mode of the soundcard. The drivers can be downloaded here.
