Dell introduces a new revision of its 2408 WFP monitors which is to eliminate the weak points from the design. A Dell employee has confirmed that the first monitors based on the new A01 revision are already being produced and should become available soon.

The new revision of the Dell 2408 WFP will solve the biggest problem of the existing models, the high inputlag. Inputlag is the time between the incoming of the signal on the monitor, and the display of images. With the old screen, this inputlag was so high that rapidly moving images and games were less playable according to some. Apart from the decrease in inputlag, this version also has renewed energy saving modes and the auto focusing is enhanced as well.

The new revision A01 is already listed in a German webshop, but costs 180 euro more than the previous A00 model. By the time more shops offer the renewed 2408 WFP, the difference in price will become a lot smaller.

The monitor's new firmware will not be released to the public, nor can an A00 version be switched for the newer model. Only when there is a proven technical issue with the old monitor, it can be swapped for the newer model. This obviously does not include user-inflicted damage.
