After the recent announcement of the E8600, Intel now comes with a cheap 45nm quadcore processor as addition to the existing E8xxx series. This quadcore processor, branded Core 2 Quad Q8200, is based on the same 45nm architecture as the E8200 and is clocked at 2.33GHz. The Q8200 has an FSB of 1333MHz and will cost about $224,-.

The Q8200 performs just a bit less than the Q6600 and Q9300

The Q8200 is the cheapest 45nm quadcore processor and will feature a 4 MB cache. With the announcement of the Q8200 Intel is aiming towards affordable and energy efficient processors. It's expected that the CPU will be released in either August or September.
