nVidia recently expanded its GeForce 9 series with the 9500GT and 9800GT, respectively aimed towards the budget- and midrange segment. Remarkable about these cards is the fact that several manufacturers already offer alternatively cooled version, while most new graphics cards are based on the reference model. MSI also introduces their collection of 9500GT and 9800GT based GPU's.

The company will release three versions of the GeForce 9500GT, which features 32 stream processors. Two of them are actively cooled with a single slot cooler, the third is cooled in a passive manner. All three of the MSI 9500GT cards feature 512MB memory, one model comes equipped with GDDR3, the other two with the slower DDR2.

All 9500GT cards feature an HDMI connector which can transfer both audio and video to your monitor or television. According to MSI, when these cards are combined with the PureVideo technology they would perform really well in multimedia applications. It's worth mentioning that the 9500GT supports Hybrid SLI, making it possible for the card to shut down when there's hardly any load on the system.

For gamers MSI announced two versions of the GeForce 9800GT, the card based on the G92 of the older 8800GT. The first version is the N9800GT Zilent 1G, featuring a large dualslot Zalman VF-1000 cooler and 1GB of memory. The other card has an alternative heatpipe cooling with four 6mm thick heatpipes and a fan. As the name suggests, this card, the N9800GT-T2D512-OC, comes overclocked.
