As a follow-up to PowerColor's HD4850 with 2GB memory, PowerColor will release a 1GB GDDR5 version of the HD4870 soon. PCGamesHardware.de shows the first images of this 4870 version, called the AX4870 1GBD5-H
Apart from the difference in memory, PowerColor has added a Zerotherm cooler to this HD4870. According to Zerotherm, this cooler would cool up to 20° Celsius better than the reference cooler. The exact frequency of the GPU is unknown. PCGamesHardware reports that the GPU runs at 800MHz, 50MHz faster than the reference model. PowerColor's site says the GPU has the reference clockspeed of 750MHz.
The card will be released somewhere in August, the price is still unknown.
