The release of Intel's new Nehalem architecture is expected by the end of the year. For Intel, Nehalem means the disappearance of the Front Side Bus and the introduction of an integrated memory controller and the Quick Path Interconnect (QPI). The first processors to use this architecture are codenamed Bloomfield and three models will eventually be available.
