On the Chinese website itoc.com, several screenshots and validation links have appeared of an overclock with AMD's new Phenom X4. The concerned model is an ES of the 45nm Deneb, expectedly the 9650.
This processor has a stockclock of 2.2GHz at 1.224V and features 2MB of L2 cache and 6MB L3 cache. As comparison, the specs of the 65nm Agena 9650 can be found here at Hardware.info: this processor runs at 2.3 GHz and has a 2 MB L3 cache.
A user on itocp.com was able to overclock the 45nm ES to over 3.4 GHz and ran SuperPI 1M at those speeds with the result being a score of 20.515 seconds.
To compare: the fastest AMD system currently listed on Hardware.Info ran SuperPI 1M in 23.828 seconds. This score was achieved with an Opteron 1220 running at 3447 MHz.
The new 45nm Phenoms are expected to be reelased in early November.
