Zotac has announced a new LAGA775 mini-ITX board for Intel processors. The board is based on nVidia's nForce 610i chipset and is able to handle all processors with an FSB up to 1333 Mhz, which includes the recent 45nm models. This makes it possible to create a compact computer with this board, without having to opt for less speed. Zotac claims that a quadcore requiring some more power will also work fine on this motherboards.

Shamefully, the board misses some essential things. There's only a PCI-Express 1x expansion slot, while there aren't many cards available for that type of slot yet. The board is also limited to its analog VGA output for the onboard GeForce 7050 videochip. There are two DDR2 memory slots present and to connect drives there's an IDE and two SATA ports.

The I/O panel of the mini-ITX board features only the minimal connectivity options with 4x USB, 5.1 audio, ethernet and PS/2 connections. The price compensates the lacking features, Zotac's Mini-ITX board should cost about $50,-.
