Not everyone may know, but apart from cars Hyundai also sells TFT monitors. A new model added to its line-up is the W241D, a black 24" monitor with a high-end S-PVA panel and a dynamic contrast of 3000:1. The claimed response time for this panel is 6 ms, making the screen able to display fast movement smoothly.

The fact that Hyundai is placing this monitor in a higher segment is not just shown by the usage of the more expensive S-PVA panel, but also by the connectivity options of the screen. Apart from the regular DVI- and VGA outputs, there's also an HDMI and component video port present. This allows the TFT to be easily connected to a gaming console or digital TV-receiver. The screen has two integrated speakers of 3 watt each. To finish it off, the monitor also has a built-in USB hub.

The screen is compatible with HDCP and thus able to display HD video properly on a digital video connection. Because the screen has a claimed viewing angle of 178 degrees, it can also function well in a pivot mode.

The Hyundai W241D monitor has a recommended price of 639 euro, but an online webshop in Germany already has it listed at a price of 479.90 euro, which certainly isn't a bad price for a 1920x1200 monitor with S-PVA panel.
