Seagate announces the first ever 1.5TB harddisk. The 3.5-inch Barracuda 7200.11 uses perpendicular magnetic recording, making it possible to process more zero's and ones per square inch than in a regular harddisk. The disk is expected to hit shelves by August, the recommended price is still unknown.

The company also announced two 500GB notebook drives: the Momentus 5400.6 and Momentus 7200.4. These 5.400 and 7.200 RPM 2.5-inch drives will be released somewhere in the fourth quarter of this year.
