Daily tech has posted the news that AMD has finally released a non-beta version of Catalyst drivers for Windows Vista. As Vista will be officially released today (30th) they have arrived just in time. The version is available for the 32 as well as the 64-bit version of the operating system and can be downloaded from the ATI/AMD website.
The driver for Vista only supports cards from the 9500 series and upwards and at the moment is not able to offer VIVO capabilities for cards that sport this. Blu-Ray and HD-DVD playback are supported, be it only in the 32 bit drivers, as well as CrossFire and OpenGL. At the moment OpenGL games are not suppored in a CrossFire setup, but AMD promises to have this solved as soon as possible.
Finally AMD claims that the new control centre for Vista takes up less resources and starts up quicker. The complete release notes can be found on this website.
