ASUSTeK Computer today introduced the Striker Extreme motherboard, specifically designed for high end and gaming systems. The nVidia 680i SLI based Striker Extreme board supports Intel's latest quad core processor, nVidia's Quad SLI technology and supports FSB speeds up to 1333MHz.

The board features ASUS; LCD poster, that will inform the user if there is a problem during boot up in word, in stead of the often used coded messages, an onboard on/off switch that enables the user to start up the system without the board being instaled ina  case, a SupremeFX soundcard, and ASUS' EL I/O system. This entails that all the motherboard connections have a LED, making it easy to connect peripherals and system devices in the dark. The LED's can be switched on or off by a switch on the back plate of the motherboard.

The Striker Extreme will be bundled with the game Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, 3D Mark 06 advanced edition and Kapersky anti virus. The board will be available in shops soon, pricing has not yet been disclosed.
