Biostar releases new nForce 680i SLI motherboard
BIOSTAR is one of the first motherboard manufacturers that have announced their model based on nVidia's new nForce 680i SLI chipset. The TF680i SLI Deluxe has support for all current and future Intel socket LGA 775 processors, including the upcoming Core 2 Quad processors.
The TF680i SLI Deluxe feautures three PCI-Express slots, of which two are 16 lanes and the third is an 8 lane slot. The third slot is meant to be used with a physics card, but can also be used with a third graphics card. The board further sports 10 USB 2.0 ports, 2 FireWire ports and 4 memory slots for up to 8GB of 1200MHz DDR2 memory.The chipset also supports FSB speeds of 533, 800, 1066 and even 1333MHz for future compatibility and overclocking.
A total of six SATA 300GB/s ports are found on the board, the onboard SATA controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 1+0. There are two Marvell 1000mbit/sec network ports and the onboard sound chip support high definition 8 channel audio.
The board should appear in shops soon, pricing however has not yet been announced.
