Belkin announces implementation of the Intel Wireless UWB Link 1480 MAC silicon in its upcoming UWB USB Adapter based on WiNet and Certified Wireless USB technology. As an initial application, the USB Adapter will support peer-to-peer connectivity, enabling users to share multimedia content between computers. It will be available in the first quarter of 2007.

Based on the Certified Wireless USB specification and the WiMedia network specification, Intel's solution offers short-range, high-bandwidth capabilities with low power consumption, which should be making it the ideal wireless personal connectivity solution for the digital home and office.
