Toshiba announced the latest addition to its gaming notebook series with the Satellite P105-S9722 featuring the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor for an estimated single unit price of $1,999.99.

Featuring a 17-inch diagonal widescreen TruBrite display in a 7.1-pound, 1.41-inch slim notebook, the Satellite P105-S9722 incorporates the latest Intel Centrino Duo mobile platform as well as the nVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS card with 256 MB of graphics memory, delivering astonishing graphics for the hottest 3D games and multimedia programs. Now with an Onyx Blue Metallic high-gloss lid as well as a high-gloss palm rest inside, the Satellite P105-S9722 notebook is currently available from select consumer electronics and computer retailers nationwide.

Based on the new Intel Core Microarchitecture, the integrated Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7200 (2.00 GHz, 4 MB L2, 667 MHz FSB) is Intel's most energy-efficient dual-core performance processor and is designed to handle multiple tasks in less time while consuming less power and reducing fan noise and heat. The Satellite P105-S9722 features a DVI-D output port to allow users to connect to an HDTV, a S/P DIF output port for connecting to 5.1 surround sound stereo, and Bluetooth v.2.0+EDR technology to connect with Bluetooth devices such as wireless gaming controls and other accessories. Other features include:

  • DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive that reads and writes in up to 11 formats that can nearly double a recordable DVD's storage capacity for photo, music and video files in either DVD+R or DVD-R double layer formats;
  • 2048MB DDR2 SDRAM dual-channel memory for enhanced performance of games and music, picture and video multimedia files;
  • 200GB serial-ATA hard drive for generous file storage;
  • Express Media Player that gives users convenient access to CD and DVD playback without booting up the operating system;
  • fingerprint reader for one-touch secure access management;
  • customizable Dual Mode touch pad that can provide one-tap short cuts to launch e-mail, an Internet browser and other selected programs;
  • 5-in-1 bridge media adapter for easy file sharing and downloads;
  • built-in harman/kardon(R) stereo speakers for a rich audio experience;
  • TruBrite technology from Toshiba for a crisp, clear display.

The unit features Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system and is Windows Vista Premium Ready. All new Toshiba Satellite notebooks are RoHS-compatible, restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances.

The Satellite P105-S9722 notebook comes with a standard one-year limited warranty that includes carry-in support at Authorized Service Providers throughout the country, or the customer may use any of the more than 3,000 UPS Stores for packaging and delivery of the product to a centralized depot for prompt service turnaround. Customers can also choose to upgrade the notebook's service plans, including up to four years of extended service plans.
