No AMD at this falls Intel Developer Forum?
Next week it's that time of the year again; Intel hosts the Intel Developer Forum Fall 2006 and many members of the international IT press will attend the event. Usually AMD books a suite in a nearby hotel and shows the press some stuff that hasn't materialized yet in Intel labs. The past few years AMD showed the first 64-bit processor, the first dual-core processor and some other interesting developments during IDF.
For the first time in years however it seems like AMD doesn't seem to have something up their sleeves during IDF; there's no secret AMD hotelroom, no secret AMD limo's driving near the IDF grounds and no other AMD activities whatsoever planned. It's already known that quad-core processors will be one of the main topics for this falls IDF, so the absence from AMD might signify that they've got no proper answer to the quad-core attack yet.
During last years IDF, AMD challenged Intel for a dual-core duel. Will Intel challenge AMD for a quad-core dual this year?
