Video test update: nVidia scores 123 in HQV
Last week we've published an article where we compared the video quality of ATI and nVidia graphics cards with 12 stand alone DVD players, varying in price from 200 to more than 2000 dollars. Our conclusions were that ATI and nVidia both offer far better quality than the stand alone player and that ATI had a small advantage over nVidia, due to good results in the various cadence tests in the HQV benchmark we used. After having discussed this with Patrick Beaulieu from nVidia's PureVideo team, it turned out that there's a higher score possible for the nVidia cards with a different configuration of the PureVideo decoder. An outdated reviewers guide made us use the wrong settings. A new run of the benchmarks shows us that nVidia manages to score 123 point in HQV. Click here for the original article, that we've already updated.
