Digitimes reports that Dell will use about 20 million AMD processors in servers, desktop PCs and notebooks between the fourth quarter of 2006 and the fourth quarter of 2007. 4 million of these will be used in notebooks, the rest will all be used in both desktop and server systems.

Dell released the news in September that they would start selling AMD servers in September, and while no offical press relase has been issued sources say that notebooks will follow somewhere in the fourth quarter of this year. The total amount of processors that AMD will ship to dell would account for roughly 30% of Dell's production.

Some other analists fear that because of the deal with Dell the already tight supply of AMD prcocessors will become even tighter, and demand will start to outgrow the supply, creating a shortage in the channel market.

Both AMD and Dell refused to comment on the reports.
