Edimax presents new WLAN USB-adapter

Edimax Technology today announced a Wireless High-Gain USB adapter; the EW-7318USg. The EW-7318USg is a compact sized USB adapter that delivers an enhanced wireless performance. By connecting the USB adapter to a USB equipped laptop or notebook PC, users can access a high speed wireless network while also getting secure access to shared files from other computers.

The USB adapter features Turbo Mode to increase the data transmission speed within wireless networks, with maximum speeds of up to 54Mbps. For an optimal wireless coverage, the EW-7318USg is equipped with a detachable 4 dBi high-gain antenna. By providing a standard SMA antenna connector, Edimax allows users to apply other antenna's to enlarge the wireless coverage even further. In addition, the EW-7318USg offers maximum wireless security by supporting 64/128-bit WEP encryption and WPA / WPA2 (Wi-Fi protected access).
