Tom's Hardware reports that Pretec will soon release a USB Stick that can store 23 CD's or three complete DVD's. It's capacity is a whopping 16GB, but the actual size is about the same as that of the 2 or 4GB sticks on the market today.

Pretec claims that the memory stick can offer a transfer rate of about 25 MB/s, but prices will not be cheap. An 8 GB model will also be released, which has a recommended retail price of $205. The largest version, the 16GB will be for sale for no less than $640.

The exact release date has not been given, the USB sticks should be available in the U.S and Europe "soon".
